“I love women, I love art, I love to have a good time."
Jeremy Lifsey tells us the three things he loves: “I love women, I love art, I love to have a good time”.
He looks at tattooing like a “Journey”, but his tattoo journey started when he was a little kid. Jeremy liked to draw—so much, that teachers would take pencils away from him, and he had to smuggle them into class in his socks. As he got older, he had a run with graffiti that ended up being short lived. Jeremy started to take his career tattooing into a more professionally matter.
Once Jeremy started an apprenticeship, but never finished; however, while that might have made things more difficult for Jeremy in his tattoo career, he sounded grateful for not finishing. Apparently, (as he now knows) his mentor didn’t know much about the “science” behind tattooing. Jeremy looks up to Eric Blair, Jaimon Tharladson, Tim Hendrix, Rick Walters, and Derik Snell.
Jeremy has been “technically” tattooing for 13 years, but considers the last 6 years “truly professional”. He prefers doing traditional American, traditional Japanese, black and grey, black/grey photo realism, and admits that he probably won’t tattoo in any other style respectively because he doesn’t want to put out a bad tattoo. While he believes he’s really put out some great work in the past two years, he knows that there is always room for progression. “If you stay doing the same old shit then you’re going to keep putting out the same old shit”. His progressive attitude is one of the things that attributes to his “work hard” mentality.
If Jeremy agrees to tattoo you, then you can be assured that you will like your tattoo, especially since he will only take on projects where he knows he can do well. “I’m going to do a great tattoo on you, I’m going to make you laugh when I tattoo you, and it will be an all around good tattoo experience”.
