Ryan Farnell here, the designer and Co-Founder of Central City Ink Magazine.
I started this tattoo magazine based out of Santa Maria, California because it is so important to know what kind of tattoo artists are out in the world. This all started when I got my first tattoo at the age of 22. I was upset due to the fact that the artist didn’t follow my tattoo design and was unable to give me what I wanted. It’s not an amazing feeling when the tattoo you just got turns out to be something you didn’t ask for.
Because of my experience, I started up Central City Ink magazine for everyone in the world to enjoy. You will find the work of tattoo artists, to CCI models from around the world, all at a glance in this magazine. The tattoo artists we choose to feature have done amazing work, and this will help you pick an artist that can produce the tattoo you have in mind. The artist’s biography can help you understand more about their background, and with the thinking process of your tattoo.
I have been an artist my whole life. Not a tattoo artist, but I am an artist in different ways; more specifically, through photography and graphic design. I strive to do what I love: giving back to people in this world a great tattoo magazine that everyone can enjoy and is different in every way.
When you hold a CCI magazine, you’ll notice that I feature tattoo artists, models, and business ads on a High 100 text paper with UV gloss. I love the work I do, and take time putting my layouts together. Amazing work comes from your heart, and the passion for the things you live for. I feel that by giving back to the world in every way I can—putting my heart and soul into it—CCI will one day be the biggest tattoo magazine in the world!
